Police remind Westport residents of ‘no animals at beaches’ regulation beginning April 1st

Pet owners in Westport will not be allowed to bring their animals to the beach starting in April.

On Tuesday, Westport police reminded residents that “no animals at the beaches” regulation will be starting on April 1st.

This enforcement will include Compo, Burying Hill and Old Mill beaches.

Aside from the Soundview parking lot at Compo Beach, animals will not be permitted on any beach property.

Authorities said the regulation will be in effect until Oct. 1st.
