Police: Student finds shell casing at Vernon middle school


VERNON, Conn. (WTNH)–A student at Vernon Center Middle School found an empty shell casing in the stairway on Thursday afternoon, according to police.

Police are actively investigating to determine how the casing ended up in the school. The incident occurred at the end of the school day, and police officers were present during school dismissal.

Police said that they have finished an initial investigation, and that there is no specific threat to the school.
