Bill allowing CT adults adopted as kids to access their original birth certificate passes in state House

Politics

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — The State House passed a bill Tuesday granting adults who were adopted as kids access to their original birth certificates.

The bill would also give these people the name of their birth parents.

The current law only allows people born on or after Oct. 1, 1983 access to birth certificates.

The new bill goes to the State Senate next; they will be in session Wednesday where it may be taken up.
