It’s called the ‘Connecticut Option’ and supporters of it say it has the potential to lower the price of healthcare for individuals and businesses by up to 20 percent.
It also includes the creation of a ‘cost containment commission’ that will look at ways to overhaul the cost of health care in the state.
”Today we are taking very bold steps forward a transformational bill that will change the lives of Connecticut residents whether you are a senior, whether you are a small business owner like my mother, whether you were someone who was kicked off of Medicare years ago and have been struggling ever since. Today we are offering a bold way forward for the state of Connecticut,” said
Rep. Sean Scanlon, (D) Guilford.
Governor Lamont and other lawmakers wrapped up a news conference on the plan at the State Capitol.
