Congresswoman-elect Jahana Hayes is going back on a campaign pledge to not vote for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Hayes was clear during her run for the 5th District that a generational change was needed.

However, since arriving in D.C., Hayes says she listened to Pelosi and others and changed her mind.

She released a statement that says:

“The fact is that voting against Pelosi on the floor Is a vote for the Republicans. The American people sent Democrats to Congress so that we would fight for the values they care about and to act as a check on this administration. Voting against Nancy Pelosi accomplishes neither of these goals. In fact, it undermines them.”
