Governor-elect Ned Lamont has tapped Tim Larson to lead the Office of Higher Education.

The office oversees such tasks as administering state financial aid programs and regulating more than 150 postsecondary career schools.

Larson currently serves as a state senator representing East Hartford, East Windsor, Ellington and South Windsor. He is also the Executive Director of the Tweed New Haven Regional Airport Authority.

Larson will begin serving as the director-designate on Wednesday.
