Portland high and middle schools evacuated due to gas leak


PORTLAND, Conn. (WTNH)– Two schools in Portland have been evacuated due to a faint smell of gas.

Portland High School officials confirm that the school has been evacuated at Portland High School located on High street in Portland, Connecticut Friday morning.

The fire department responded and the gas company is currently checking on everything.

As of now, there is no information on what caused the gas leak.

Nobody was hurt and classes have resumed.Check back with News 8 for any additional updates on this story.
