Protesters rally in Hartford after mother set to be deported back to England

Protesters are trying to stop a Hartford mother from being deported to her native England.

They held a rally in her support Tuesday, demanding a stay of removal.

Wayzaro Walton was brought to this country when she was three years old.

She’s lived in Hartford since 1987.

Her wife and 15 year old daughter are both American citizens.

“All I know is being in Connecticut. I don’t know anything else outside of that. I need to be here with my family, my wife, my daughter It makes me sick to my stomach, the thought of having to leave it all behind.

She says she’s complied with immigration officials since 2011.

But last month she was referred to ICE, given an ankle monitor and ordered to get a one-way flight to London.

She’s scheduled to be deported next friday.
