HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH)–As the presidential candidates squared off on national television, hundreds of Quinnipiac University students gathered on campus to hear what they had to say about the issues.

Quinnipiac professor Scott McLean says the debates really aren’t going to change minds that are all already made up. But Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are going after the undecided voters. We spoke to four Quinnipiac students who were still on the fence to see if the debate got them to commit to a candidate.

“I think they are pretty composed but it’s getting more and more hostile, but I think they are both dancing around the questions I don’t think the really focusing on the material,” said freshman Nick Carrozza.

“I still don’t know, especially after watching this debate I still couldn’t tell you. Trump says he will bring jobs back to America but half of the clothes he wears are made in the U.S. So that is very debatable, and Hillary? Do you always believe what she says? Especially after all of the lies she has said,” asked sophomore Tyler Culp.

“My siblings, they want to be in the Navy and they want to do it in the future, but my dad says it’s a risky business who is going to be our commander-in-chief so my concern is for their safety,” said sophomore Lauren Gonzalez.

“I think they dance around every single question and I also think it is a lose-lose,” said freshman Sean Raggio.
