You might have seen Santa, elves, and even a reindeer getting their exercise in New Haven on Sunday.
That’s because it was all for the Christopher Martin’s Christmas Run for Children.
Nearly 2,000 came out, donated a toy, and tackled a 5k in the Elm City.
Many even dressed in costumes.
Over the years, this run has collected over 60,000 toys for kids who need them in the area.
So, all of these runners made the nice list this year.

“It’s just a great community event. People have a lot of fun. It’s a flat course. People have a lot of fun doing it and they also have a great food afterwards and a lot of free beer,” explained event coordinator John Bysiewicz.
“I want to thank the police department. They work really hard to give away the toys up at Southern after the race. I want to thank everyone who participated. You are going to make some young child very happy this year,” stated New Haven Mayor Toni Harp.
It’s estimated they collected more than 2,000 toys from the event.
