Sears planning on shuttering more stores even if company survives bankruptcy


Even if Sears is able to survive its bankruptcy proceedings this month, the retailer will continue to close down stores.

A new business plan shows that the company anticipates closing 36 more of its Kmart stores by the end of the year.

Its proposed bankruptcy still needs to be approved by a judge.

Sears and Kmart are down to about 1,000 stores, down from about 3,500 in 2005.
