Sen. Blumenthal, Puerto Rican officials to speak out against Trump’s cutting of disaster relief fund

U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal and leaders of the Puerto Rican community are set to denounce the Trump Administration’s plan to cut disaster relief funding for Puerto Rico on Monday in Hartford. 

Senator Blumenthal along with Puerto Rican officials will speak out against the Trump Administration’s decision to cut disaster relief funding for Puerto Rico.

Experts say thousands are still suffering after Hurricane Maria hit in 2017. 

President Trump announced he intends to cut, cancel or delay recovery project funding in order to build a border wall. 

Senator Blumenthal will speak this morning at 10:30 a.m. in Hartford.
