Senator Blumenthal introduces CURE High Prices Drug Act at Hartford Hospital

U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal visited Hartford Hospital on Monday morning to introduce a legislation centered around ending predatory price gouging on lifesaving drugs. 

Sen. Blumenthal unveiled the “Curbing Unreasonable Rises and Excessively (CURE) High Drug Prices Act,” legislation that would ban unjustified drug price increases.

The act would also give the Department of Health and Human Services authority to block such increases.  

According to officials, average prices of prescription drugs has risen significantly, stating that the price of EpiPens rose by 500 percent over just 10 years.
