School bus drivers and monitors in Shelton are picketing at the bus yard, prepared to strike on Friday.
They say they haven’t been able to come to terms on a new contract.
According to the union, those drivers and monitors have been working without a contract since July of 2018. That’s when Durham took over school bus services in town.
“We care about the kids the families, but the bus drivers have families too and they need to support them,” said Ben Phillips, Communications Director Of Union Csea Seiu Local 2001.
The union says that the company has refused to honor the contract that was already in place.
