Six Farmington store clerks given infractions for selling tobacco to minors


FARMINGTON, Conn. (WTNH)–Farmington police have issued infractions to six store clerks for selling tobacco products to minors under the age of 18.

The clerks were arrested after police conducted a random check on 23 businesses in the area. They used a 17-year-old as a decoy.

Kandasamy Gnanagurv of Unionville Grocery on South Main Street, Sanober Khan of Sunoco on Farmington Avenue, Shahidul Goni of Shell on Farmington Avenue, Muhammad Abdulla Shehaiber of Mobil on Farmington Avenue, Saleh Aboo Ahmed Alsuraimi of Exxon on Colt Highway, and Sage Cote of Cumberland Farms on Scott Swamp Road were all issued infractions.

The random check was done in conjuction with the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.
