Smartphone Starts Bedroom Fire in Hamden

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) – A bizarre fire starts in a bedroom in Hamden because of a smartphone. That’s according to the Hamden Fire Department.

It happened on May 22nd at 204 Franklin Road just before four in the morning. Fire officials say the smartphone set the bedding and pillow on fire. You can see the black charred marks left over from the fire in the above photo taken by firefighters. Investigators say the fire put itself out. Luckily no one was hurt. Officials arn’t saying what caused the smartphone to ignite.
