South Windsor police are warning residents of more car break-ins.

Police say that their midnight shift patrol responded to a call near Sullivan Avenue and Collins Crossing where they found three suspicious vehicles.

The vehicles were found without lights on to avoid officers. After one of the vehicles was confirmed to be a stolen car, police attempted to stop the car.

The car then fled into Hartford where the arrests were finally made.

Police say that groups of youths travelling to towns for car burglaries is becoming more common. Their goal is to find unlocked cars and get any cash or valuable items.

If the keys are found in the car they typically use the car until it runs out of gas or is recovered.

Please be aware of this tactics, lock your car and take the keys with you every time you exit.
