According to police, a warrant was issued from a previous incident on Sunday night in which Southington officers responded to the area of Darling Street and Flanders Street on a report of a driver slumped over on the wheel.
When police arrived on scene, they spotted in plain view marijuana on the floor of the vehicle and bundles of wax paper folded up in the back seat floor. Police later confirmed the bundles of wax paper packaging consisted of heroin.
Further search in the vehicle led the officers to find plastic bags containing a white rock-like substance, which turned out to be confirmed as cocaine.
In all, Southington police seized 504 baggies of heroin and 48.7 grams of crack cocaine.
Watson was transported from the scene to an area medical center for evaluation.
Police then arrested Shawnya Watson, 34 of Shelton, on charges of possession of narcotics with intent to sell and other related charges. Watson posted a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court in January.
