(WTNH)–For kids too sick to trick or treat on this Halloween, all the fun of this day came to them. The staff at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center got all dressed up Monday in creative costumes. There were nurses and specialists dressed as dominoes, play-dough, and trolls too.
They reverse trick or treated, bringing non-edible treats like stickers, notebooks and toys to the kids. It’s a change that boosts spirits for both the kids and their parents.
“The kids get so much out of it. Not only do they get the little treats, but they also get to see their nurses and doctors in a light they don’t normally get to see them,” said CCMC specialist Kelly Foy.
The CCMC staff got competitive too, holding a costume contest for who can think the most outside the box. It’s a day that was all about the kids.
