‘Stand Down’ event in Rocky Hill held to help veterans

News

Dozens of agencies are gathering in Rocky Hill all to help out veterans. It’s part of the event called “Stand Down.”

Veterans can receive employment, housing and educational assistance at the event. Medical, dental, and mental health screenings will also be offered.

It’s taking place from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.  Friday at the Department Of Veterans’ Affairs, which is on West Street.

The Department of Transportation is also providing free bus services for veterans who need transportation. There will be various pickup points across the state.
