On Saturday, crews from the Hartford Fire Department, Connecticut Department of Transportation, Connecticut State Police, and Connecticut Department of Emergency Management created a scenario depicting a head-on collision of two rail vehicles.
Crews practiced how they would handling responding to the rail cars if passengers were located inside.

The simulation was conducted off of Windsor Street.
Hartford firefighters say this training opportunity was the first of its kind in the city.
“We are looking forward to conducting this type of training on an annual basis moving forward”, officials wrote on the fire department’s Facebook page Saturday.
