State police sweep I-91 for purple minivan involved in East Haven burglary

EAST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — State police are sweeping state roads between New Haven and North Haven for a purple minivan, after East Haven police had to break off their pursuit.

Tuesday morning around 3:30 a.m., East Haven police received a report of a burglary on Pleasant Street, and a purple minivan still lingering in the area.

On arriving, officers were engaged in a pursuit with that vehicle, that led them to I-91. Troopers say East Haven police had to break off the chase, northbound by exit 10, and that they are sweeping the area. The pursuit has not been reengaged.

There is no word on the nature of the burglary on Pleasant Street, or a description of the suspect or suspects involved.
