STRATFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Officials were called to a potentially dangerous scene in Stratford on Thursday.
According to police, a hand grenade was discovered by workers at a waste management facility on Garfield Avenue.
Officials say the grenade appeared to be from World War One or Two and was apparently discarded with garbage that ended up at the facility.
The State Police Bomb Squad responded to the scene and disarmed the explosive.
There have been no injuries reported from the incident.
