Police responded to a different kind of call on Sunday: The call for food.
Shoppers stopped by the ShopRite and gave cash and money to make sure no one goes hungry this time of year.
This is the 3rd year the Derby Police Department has hosted a Stuff-A-Cruiser event. Officers said it’s grown every year.
“The first year we did it, we raised $18,000 worth of food. The second year we did $25,000, which is absolutely amazing. And this year, I want to shatter that goal,” Lt. Chris Pizzi said.
All of the food goes to St. Vincent De Paul’s in Derby, which helps families in the valley.
