Suspect in armored car theft captured in Wethersfield

News

Officials with the Federal Bureau of Investigation confirm that a fugitive wanted in connection with an armored car heist was captured in Wethersfield Wednesday.

According to the FBI, Mark Espinosa, 29, of Louisville, Kentucky, was working as an armored truck driver near the Jefferson Mall on December 5, 2018. Espinosa and the money from the truck went missing.

Espinosa had ties to New Britain, and a nationwide manhunt for him alerted authorities here in Connecticut. After more than a month on the run, Espinosa was taken into custody Wednesday.
