Suspect in custody after police standoff in Vernon

News

Police say a suspect has been placed into custody after a standoff in Vernon Tuesday night.

According to the Manchester Police Department, officers responded to a domestic disturbance call at home in Manchester.

Before police arrived, the suspect, 34-year-old Kamil Stachowicz, fled in a car to Vernon.

Officers located Stachowicz at 90 Butternut Lane. A police officer made contact with Stachowicz by phone, according to Manchester PD. 

Officials say Stachowicz was barricaded in the home for 40 minutes, and refused to leave. Police say he eventually surrendered to police by coming out of the home. 

Stachowicz was arrested and is facing numerous charges ranging from disorderly conduct, risk of injury to a minor, an threatening. He is being held on a $250,000 bond, and is expected to appear in court on Wednesday. 

The Vernon Police Department says no injuries have resulted from the standoff.
