The “Say Yes to the Prom Dress Boutique” is ready to go in New Haven and everything is free.
“My prom was pretty amazing. Yeah, it was really nice,” said Project Hope CT’s Khalilah Abdulrahim.
It’s a local non-profit. They’ve been giving prom dresses away for the last 9 years.
On Tuesday, the Jordan’s Furniture van pulled up not filled with a dresser, but with dresses! They collected 500 of them from customers over the past two months.
“We’re so thankful that the dresses that are donated, they’re very trendy, they’re stylish, they’re colorful and they’re quality and these girls deserve that,” said Public Relations Manager for Jordan’s Furniture Heather Copelas.
Now, their racks are brimming with nearly 3,000 dresses.
“It is invigorating. It fills my heart with job. It really does,” said Abdulrahim
Their Grand Opening is April 13th at 83 Audubon Street.
Students, be sure to have your Student ID or current report card. They’re available to juniors, seniors, and 8th grade students.
