Toddler playing in road rescued by retired officer

A retired police officer rescued a toddler just steps away from several cars and it was caught on camera.

CBS Los Angeles reports Darryl Pang spotted the little boy unsupervised  in the middle of a road chasing a ball.

It happened in Tustin, Calif. near a park where he takes his own grandchildren.

Pang reportedly made a quick u-turn and inched closer to the boy as another car sped by, motioning for other drivers to stop.

The rescue was caught on Pang’s dash cam.

After the child was in his arms, a man took the child and returned to the park, according to the report.
