Trained therapy dog welcomed, new sergeant promoted in Wolcott on Thursday


WOLCOTT, Conn. (WTNH) – The Wolcott Police Department celebrated a new four-legged member of the team on Thursday.

Mallard is a trained comfort and therapy dog. He will be called upon to help people who have experienced crisis or trauma.

That will include Wolcott’s own officers.

Wolcott police also promoted Angelo Mauriello to the position of Sergeant on Thursday.
