(NEXSTAR MEDIA WIRE/WTNH) — HBO Max has returned “Gone with the Wind” to its movie lineup after pulling it two weeks ago amid mass protests against racial injustice sweep the country.

“Gone with the Wind” is a love story set during the American Civil War. The 1939 film is considered a cinematic classic, but it’s also criticized for its portrayal of slavery and African Americans.

A spokesperson for the streaming service, which is owned by Warner Media, said the movie is a product of its time and depicts racial prejudices commonplace in American society.

HBO Max returned the film to its service this week. It added two additional videos with the film to address the inaccurate and racist historical depictions in the movie. The videos denounce the misrepresentations while examining the film’s historical context.
