(WTNH) — Social media is a powerful tool which helps connect people, share ideas and learn about the world. There is also a dark side to platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat – some of these environments can be filled with negativity.
Dave Kerpen is the co-founder of a company called Likeable Media and he wanted to dedicated one day, Tuesday, February 26th, to focus on good and positivity across social media. This day is called #BeLikeableDay.

With the rise of cyber bullying, fake news, hate speech and more negative commentary from people who hide behind a screen, it’s easy to be exposed to language or conversation that is stress or anxiety enducing. Over 77% of Americans have a social media profile, so it’s hard to quit because access is part of the majority of people’s daily life.
