MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — One turtle in trouble needed a little help when it got stuck in between rocks on the beach.
A loggerhead sea turtle was found upside down and wedged between rocks at Blowing Rocks Preserve.
Nature Conservancy staff and the FWC Fish and Wildlife Research team were able to flip the female loggerhead over, and lift her out, according to a post on Facebook. She quickly made her way back to the shore and swam off.
The FWC Fish and Wildlife Research Institute reminds beach goers to fill in any holes dug into the sand, to help nesting sea turtles.
