University of Bridgeport students put Dr. Martin Luther King’s words into action

(WTNH)–Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?'”

It is those kinds of words and thoughts that have led this day to become a day of service around the country. Students and staff at the University of Bridgeport put those words into action on Monday.

“It only takes one person to change something, and we all came together to impact the community,” said Chelsea Claudia Anthony, who donated clothes to those in need on Martin Luther King Day. “Regardless of where I am, people still need help, and there’s a lot of work that still needs to be done.”

“Dr. King, he was everything. His dream, he was so vocal about it, it makes me want to finish it for him,” said Shamar Holmes, who participated in the school’s Common Ground seminar.
