Verdict expected in case of East Haven mom accused of killing 2 kids


A three-judge panel in New Haven is expected to announce the verdict in the Leroya Moore trial on Friday.

Moore, 39, is charged with murdering her six-year-old daughter and seven-year-old son in their East Haven home back in 2015 with an overdose of an over-the-counter antihistamine.

Police said Moore left a note, saying, “I don’t know the reason why, but we were meant to die today.”

Her lawyers used an insanity defense but prosecutors said she was not psychotic at the time of the killings.
