Veterans hit the slopes in Southington in adaptive skiing event


Veterans hit the slopes in Southington on Thursday. 

“Leaps Of Faith Adaptive Skiers” hosted a day of adaptive skiing for veterans at Mount Southington at 396 Mt Vernon Road in Plantsville. 

The event is led by a Vietnam veteran and many of the volunteer instructors are also former service members.

The program is all about exposing veterans to a new experience, new friendships and improved athletic abilities!

It began back in 1992 by a veteran who lost his vision after being hit by a grenade in the Vietnam war.
