(WTNH) – Eversource is conducting aerial inspections this week to detect potential equipment issues before they occur here in Connecticut.
The work involves using low-flying helicopters equipped with high-resolution cameras.
“Over a million customers in Connecticut depend on us every day for reliable electric service,” said Craig Hallstrom, Regional Electric Operations President at Eversource. “These helicopter inspections of our transmission lines are a crucial part of our commitment to reducing the frequency and duration of power outages.”
Eversource will begin on Monday in the Wallingford/Southington area and then head north and east to Windham County.
Next week, inspections will continue to Tolland and New London counties and finish-up the month in Middlesex and Litchfield counties.
The inspection will take place between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
