WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — Waterbury officials decided Tuesday night that the decision to move the city’s Independence Day fireworks to a new location will move forward as planned.
At the Board of Alderman meeting Tuesday night, the motion was raised to conduct a public hearing to let residents decide if the fireworks should be moved from Municipal Stadium to Holyland. The board rejected that motion, citing that it was an executive decision made by city leaders, and it was not their place to change that.
The city will do a test of the fireworks at Holyland on Thursday June 4th around 9:00 p.m.
The City of Waterbury’s 2015 Independce Day fireworks will take place on Saturday July 4th, starting around 9:30 p.m.
