According to the Waterbury Police Department, officers responded to the area of Berkeley Avenue at Long Hill Road for a report of a motor vehicle accident at 8:10 p.m.
Police say an SUV was driving on Berkeley Avenue and struck a parked car that was unoccupied. The SUV had a driver and two passengers. One of the occupants was ejected from the vehicle during the accident. All three were transported to the hospital.
Police confirmed on Thursday that the female driver, 18-year-old Coreyann Spruill, died due to serious injuries. The passengers, a 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old woman, are both stable and remain hospitalized while recovering from non-life threatening injuries.
The accident remains under investigation. Anyone who witnessed this accident is asked to call Waterbury police.
