A big show of generosity in Waterbury; Hundreds of people are making sure girls get to experience the prom night of their dreams.
People have stepped forward to donate 400 new and gently-used prom dresses.
The Ungroup Society will be giving away the dresses on Saturday, April 13 at the Acts 4 Ministry from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., a non-profit on Thomaston Avenue in Waterbury. They will also be giving away shoes and accessories that were donated, too.
The Ungroup Society has been helping families who can’t afford prom dresses for the last five years.
Warren Leach from The Ungroup Society said, “We’ve been able to put $120,000 back into the pockets of families in the community. that makes this event extremely significant.”
Sarah Elizabeth Carabetta from the Acts 4 Ministry said, “any girl that receives one of these dresses is going to feel like a princess.”
