Police in Watertown responded to a report of a bank robbery Friday evening.
Investigators say just after 6:00pm, a man entered the People’s United Bank on Straits Turnpike and passed a note to a teller reading, “this is a bank robbery”. Officials say the note also contained further instructions for the teller.
According to a statement from police, the man did not display a weapon, but did leave with an undetermined amount of cash.
The man is about 40 years old. According to police, he was last seen wearing dark-rimmed glasses, a red zipper-up fleece, blue jeans, and a gray Boston Red Sox cap.
Officials obtained video surveillance, and other forensic evidence.
