WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — When it comes to back to school shopping, clothes are usually on the top of your list of things to get. But as Amanda Sirica, spokesperson for Westfarms says, there are also a few other key essentials every student needs beyond tee-shirts and pants.
Sirica says some of the items you should have on your shopping checklist include:
- Backpacks
- Coats
- Shoes
- Technology
At Westfarms, you can find everything you need on that list, such as unique backpacks at the Vera Bradley store.
“Vera Bradley is known for their signature patterns and it’s a really stylish alternative for your backpack for back to school,” Sirica said.
The store has everything from pencil holders and lunch boxes, to laptop cases and notebooks. To check off the next two items on your list, head to The North Face.
“They’ve got a great selection of fleeces, rain jackets, wind breakers,” Sirica said.
Sirica says one of the best things about shopping at the North Face is that you can layer items so you’re ready for both the warm or cool fall days.
Also at The North Face you can find shoes for both the young and old. With Connecticut’s “Tax-Free Week” kicking off this Sunday, August 21 and continuing through Saturday, August 27th, now is the perfect time to look for new clothing or footwear.
For the last item on your checklist — technology — Sirica says stop by The AT&T Experience Store. Sirica pointed out the Galaxy S7 Active phone, which is waterproof and shatterproof.
“This is the toughest smartphone Samsung has ever made,” Sirica said, making it perfect for those teens and tweens.
Another cool item at the AT&T store is the Cobra JumPack — a portable, rechargeable jump starter for your car. Not only will it power up your vehicle, but it will also charge your electronics, adding an extra level of protection for your kids when they’re on the road.
So now that you’ve got your back to school check list, it’s time to head to Westfarms to get shopping. For more information, visit ShopWestfarms.com.
