Willow Street gas station robber turns himself in to New Haven PD


New Haven police report robbery suspect Jose Antonio Cubiz turned himself in to New Haven police Thursday evening after committing robbery at a gas station on Willow Street on April 22.

Police said at around 8:15 p.m., Cubiz turned himself in and was accompanied by his family members.

Police have obtained an arrest warrant for the 40-year-old earlier this week.

Police have determined that Cubiz fits the suspect description in other recent robberies.

The warrant charges are robbery, larceny, and threatening, police said.

Cubiz has a court set bond of $200,000 and will be arraigned in court on Friday.
