Backpack drive prepares children for upcoming school year

On-Air

Giving back before the kids head back to school.

“Wireless Zone” is giving away stuffed backpacks for children who need them.

Neil Ryan and Matt Mularsky, of “Wireless Zone,” joined Good Morning Connecticut at Nine to talk about the initiative.

2,600 backpacks will be filled with school supplies and given away on Sunday at Wireless Zone locations in Groton, New London, North Windham, Putnam, Dayville, Glastonbury and Westerly, Rhode Island.

Neil and his co-owner Scott Gladstone started from nothing, sleeping on one of their mom’s sofas and built a business that does well and is constantly giving back to the community.
