Capitol Report: Dems unclear on Lamont’s toll plan, awaiting federal approval

Ancient man had an easier time chiseling the first wheel than Governor Lamont is having selling his toll plan.

Last Wednesday night, the governor crashed the House Democratic caucus to rally the troops around tolls.

The problem is that undecided Dems are still unclear on specifics around the governor’s plan because many of tolling elements still need approval from the feds.

With the clock ticking, Republicans are also restless.

Last Thursday, they rolled out their new five-year, $375 million borrowing plan that immediately prioritizes specific highway repair projects.
