Capitol Report: Local Clergy oppose recreational weed legalization, would prefer equity provisions

It’s still unclear whether a bill to legalize the sale of recreational marijuana will make it to the general assembly for a vote.

If it does, it won’t have support from hundreds of Connecticut Clergy members last week. A coalition spoke out against legalization and is worried about the impact on neighborhoods and children. It would prefer to see equity provisions instead. That would include expunging criminal records of low-level offenders.
