Capitol Report: Nearly 40% of CT residents age 18-34 still living with parents; State House declares pizza state food

Sometimes it’s hard to leave the next. It seems like a lot of 18-34-year-olds are choosing to avoid adulthood and live at home with their parents.

Case-in-point: Connecticut. According to 24/7 Wall Street, Connecticut has the fifth highest percentage of 18-34-year-olds living at home.

In Connecticut, nearly 40% is kicking it with mom and dad. The Nutmeg State also has the second-highest average age for when people get marries at 31.1.

New Jersey is the state with the most “kids” at home, followed by Florida, California, and Mississippi.

By an overwhelming margin, House lawmakers have decided to make pizza Connecticut’s official state food.

The appropriately named-named Holly Cheeseman who represents East Lyme may have summed it up best.
