Capitol Report: Schools move up Thanksgiving football games due to cold weather

Playing football in the cold is a badge of honor.

Many classic games were played in freezing weather, like “The Ice Bowl” from the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field.

But for some high school football games in Connecticut last Thursday, it was too cold to play on Thanksgiving with temps falling into the teens.

Many pushed their Thanksgiving games to Wednesday night because they were worried about cold players and fans.

Some schools said the decision was a no-win situation.
