Capitol Report: State lawmakers working to crush the ‘poverty tax’ this session

There’s a little something called the Poverty Tax that some state lawmakers are trying to get rid of. The long-standing policy penalizes Connecticut residents getting temporary government assistance.

Many who wind up getting hit with that penalty say they didn’t even know it existed.
