Capitol Report: It’s pumpkin season again; Catfish caught in CT possibly largest in the world

Capitol Report

(WTNH) — It’s that time of year again: pumpkin season! And at fall fairs that means giant pumpkin season!

Massive gourds are grown to impress. Gov. Ned Lamont this week could hardly contain his excitement when he came across one.

In Coventry this week, Ben Tomkunas caught a 21.3-pound catfish. It’s not just the biggest ever caught in Connecticut, it may be the largest in the entire world.

Tomkunas plans to submit the claim to IFGA to secure the new record.
