Shrieking and squirming, sometimes “flying with baby” is a challenge.
Forgot something at home while traveling? Never fear…with a few dollars and the push of a button, harried parents are finding a solution at Bradley International Airport.
“From fruit snacks to pacifiers to little toys, so whatever you might need, it’s in that vending machine,” said Alisa Sisic, Bradley International Airport.
“In addition to the “Baby on the Go” machines, for example, we have a mothers nursing room which might be helpful for parents traveling with children and need a private comfortable environment to feed or change their child,” said Sisic.
“Those kind of accommodations are great for parents because it puts less stress on parents when they’re traveling,” said Lauren Jimeson.
Lifestyle blogger – and mom of three Lauren Jimeson – has been there and is offering more tips for “Traveling with Baby.”
First – wear your little one!
“The number one thing, if you so have babies, is bring a carrier,” said Jimeson.
That means your hands will be free for bags and toys…
Speaking of – visit the discount store for inexpensive trinkets that will keep the kids busy.
“Just kind of pick little knick knacks and things like that they can play with. Stickers are always a winner no matter how old they are,” said Jimeson. “Anything that’s new and exciting them will keep them occupied at least for an extra 15 minutes.”
Parents know – every second counts!
Also, don’t overpack…you can even send necessities like diapers to your destination.
“Amazon Prime is great for that. There’s a lot of times I’ve traveled, made an Amazon order, shipped out right to where I need to go and it’s there when I arrive,” said Jimeson.
Don’t forget to contact the airline or TSA ahead of time – if you need info about early boarding.
Bottom line: think ahead…and be open to assistance.
“All you have to do is ask someone for help. Don’t be scared to ask someone for help,” said Jimeson. “The goal of this plane ride is to make it out unscathed.”
